* Recycle   : Many everyday things that would be thrown away can be very useful to the crafter, ( yes, sorry, I hoard things too that may be useful one day.) Help the environment and save money.

Packaging boxes, especially chocolate, often have quite large pieces of coloured or metalic card on them. Just cut out these areas in rectangles, missing the text. I have a box just for these oddments and often can find just the right piece for matting or layering, or just to mount a greeting on.

Undamaged pieces of acetate on packaging can also be re used, if only to scribble blobs of colour onto from water soluble felt pens so they can be used with a water brush to 'watercolour' your stamped image to give a softer effect. They are also useful to experiment with new effects before using an expensive piece. I wouldn't recommend heating though.
